Judy performed four songs with the choir, and the choir opened the concert with three numbers from our repertoire. With the folk/acoustic movement so prevalent in our times, this artist has transcended generational boundaries simply due to her great vocal health, and classic acoustic/folk style and sound.
Fun-fact: Judy's version of Amazing Grace was selected in 2017 by the Library of Congress, to be preserved in the National Recording Registry, as being culturally, historically and artistically significant! So cool!
For the students and teacher, it has been quite the experience getting to work on multiple studio-esque arrangements, in a setting where we won't quite know how the "artist" is going to nuance the piece till the sound check, and to only have two-weeks to learn the music. (They've only been working on the music since we returned from December break).
